Amy Jacobson Biography
Amy Jacobson is a Chicago broadcaster presently serving as a talk radio host at WIND AM 560 Fox Radio Affiliate. In addition, she was a reporter for WMAQ-TV in Chicago from 1996 to 2007. She lost her job at the station, after a video of her in a bathing suit with her children at the home of a man she was investigating in connection with his wife’s disappearance.
Jacobson graduated from John Hersey Highschool. Later on, she enrolled at the University of Lowa graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Film. She kicked off her career as an intern at KGAN TV CBS in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Area.
Amy kicked off her career at KSAX-TV as a morning news anchor. She highlighted and prioritized facts to present to the public for the morning news. Previously, she has worked at KOLD TV CBS 13 in Tucson, Arizona, KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas Area, and WJBK TV Fox 2 in Greater Detroit Area.
Moreover, she worked as a General Assignment Reporter at WMAQ TV an NBC affiliate station. in Greater Chicago. Most notably, she is a recipient of four Chicago Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Reporting. Also, she was nominated for six Chicago Emmy Awards for Special Segments and Breaking News. Amy was selected as Lead 10 pm Reporter to cover the 2002 Winter Olympics, 2005 World Series, 2007 Super Bowl, and NTSB Headings in Washington D.C.
Currently, she made frequent appearances on Livin Large with Geoff Pinkus on WIND and worked as a traffic and news reporter for WLS, beginning on the Roe Conn Show and moving to the Mancow and Cassidy show. Also, she became co-host with Big John Howell on WIND. In addition, she cohosts WIND’s morning show with Dan Profit.
Stebic Controversy
Amy was covering the story of Lisa Stebic’s unexplained disappearance. On July 6, 2007, was captured in a videotape where she was dressed in a two-piece bathing suit and her children at the home of Craig Stebic, husband of Lisa Stebic, a missing woman who was made public by WBBM-TV, the local CBS affiliate. On July 10, 2007, she and WMAQ-TV had a sit down for her exit.
In addition, she filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against CBS-owned WBBM-TV channel 2 for airing her tape of her at the home of Craig Stebic. Later on, she was dismissed with prejudice after the court ruled Jacobson failed to show CBS producing unfavorable content.
