Christine Cruz is an American journalist who currently serves as an anchor at WXII 12 News and Triad CW. She joined the team in May 2021 after spending nearly three decades working in her hometown of Miami, Florida.
Cruz began her career in television news in the early 1990s at Dynamic Cablevision in Miami. During her tenure she produced stories for the station’s English and Spanish broadcasts. Additionally, she provided South Florida viewers with their daily forecasts as the station’s weathercaster.
Cruz later joined the Telemundo affiliate in Miami where she did weather and entertainment reporting, in addition to working for the Discovery Channel, translating scripts and voicing content for their Latin American viewers.
Christine joined WSVN 7 in Miami in 1996, where she co-anchored the morning news show, Today in Florida for 24 years. “By far, being on the anchor set during the 9/11 tragedy, had the greatest impact on me,” Cruz said. “I learned so much about humanity. I was humbled by the strength and resilience of our nation.”
