Jadiann Thompson Biography
Jadiann Thompson is an American Award-Winning journalist who is currently working as an anchor and reporter at 7News. She anchors the station’s 4, 5:30, 6:30, and 9 pm weekday newscasts. Most notably, she joined the station in June of 2015. Prior to this, Thompson was the 6 pm weekday anchor for the NBC affiliate in Kansas City-KSHB TV. In addition to anchoring every weekend, she reported for the evening newscasts. Many of those days, she was a multimedia journalist which meant she ran her own camera while reporting.
Thompson’s favorite days were the 6 pm newscast she was anchoring starting with a story she pitched, shot, wrote, and edited. While in Kansas City, she was honored with two Emmy awards one for the best anchor in the region and the other for her piece on the FCC considering loosening restrictions on in-flight cell phone use.

Before she joined KSHB, she was a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor at KPHO-TV in Phoenix. During her tenure there, she covered the country’s self-proclaimed toughest sheriff, Joe Arpaio, and the Jodi Arias trial. Thompson also reported heavily on immigration reform and spent nearly two weeks on the front lines covering the Wallow Fire, Arizona’s largest wildfire in state history.
She however got her start in television news at KTWO-TV in Casper WY. Here, she started off as a multimedia journalist before being promoted to executive producer and main anchor of the station’s 5, 6, and 10 pm newscasts. She also spent time as the assistant news director at the station. Following her graduation, Thompson taught English as a Second language in Madrid, Spain before her tenure at KTWO-TV.
She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2007. While still in college, she interned on Capitol Hill for Congressman John Boozman who is now a US Senator. Besides her office duties, she loves horses and being involved in the community. She spends much of her free time as an emcee for charity events and has worked closely with the ALS Association.
