Julie Nelson is a renowned American journalist who currently works as the evening news co-anchor of KARE 11 News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. every weeknight. She joined the station in September 2003. Previously, Nelson worked as an anchor for the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts at KSTP Channel 5 (an ABC affiliate).
A few months later, she was named the “Best Newcomer” by Mpls. St. Paul Magazine. Moreover, after a year, the magazine named her one of the area’s “One Hundred People to Watch.” Julie received a regional Emmy for anchoring, the Eric Sevareid award, the Regional Murrow award, and three “Best TV Newscaster” awards from City Pages.
