Sheli Muñiz is an American Emmy award-winning journalist and news personality presently working as a news anchor at WTVJ, Channel 6. She co-anchors NBC 6 News at noon and NBC 6 News at 4p.m alongside Roxanne Vargas. Muniz joined the WTVJ news team in December 2015 as a news anchor. Before joining NBC 6 she previously worked as an anchor and reporter at WKMG-News in Orlando, Florida. While in Orlando, she covered stories that garnered national attention: a sinkhole that swallowed a man in his Sefer home and other headline shows.
She has received an Emmy award for her coverage of the 2019 historic protests in Puerto Rico. Also, her former co-anchor, Eric Harryman won a Florida AP Broadcaster award for ‘Outstanding News Anchor Team in 2017. In addition, her passion for journalism began while she was in the library of her elementary school- the location of a makeshift studio. She served as the morning show anchor, reporting on the lunch menu.
In addition, she graduated from the University of Florida public land grant research university in Gainesville, Florida.
