Wisdom Martin is an accomplished American journalist presently serving as an Anchor at FOX 5 DC. He became a part of the News team in 2003 and is responsible for anchoring the morning news on Good Day DC from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Wisdom career began during his sophomore years at Jackson State University, where he started working as a teleprompter operator for WAPT news on weekends. He steadily progressed through various roles, including news photographer, editor, and sports reporter for weekend shows, until his graduation.
Following his time at Jackson State, Martin pursued opportunities at different news stations, serving as a news and sports reporter/anchor at KSEE in Fresno, California; WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina; weekend anchor at CNN in Atlanta; and anchor/reporter at WKRN in Nashville, Tennessee.
While in Washington, Martin has been involved in covering significant events, such as reporting on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans for several days, providing live coverage on the murder of Washington Redskins football player Sean Taylor in Miami, and being the first reporter on the scene for FOX 5’s acclaimed coverage of the serial bank robberies in D.C.
Outside of work, Martin prioritizes spending quality time with his wife and three young children. He finds pleasure in staying active through workouts and cooking. Additionally, he engages in public speaking at various schools and takes on coaching roles for kids’ basketball and baseball in the local area.
Martin completed his education at Jackson State University, where he obtained a journalism degree. It was during his time at the university that Martin initiated his career in journalism.
