Aundrea Cline-Thomas Biography
Aundrea Cline-Thomas is a multiple Emmy award-winning American journalist currently working as a general assignment reporter at CBS2 News. She joined the station in October 2018. Prior to coming to New York, she worked at NBC Philadelphia for three years.
Cline covered national stories like the Southwest Airlines Flight 1380’s emergency landing, Democratic National Convention, and the Starbucks arrests. In addition, she wrote profile segments regarding women in business for the Know Your Value women’s empowerment digital platform.
Cline received the MidAtlantic Regional Emmy award in 2017 for her participation in team coverage of the deadly Delaware prison standoff. In the same year, the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists honored her as the Broadcast Journalist of the Year.
Cline kicked off her journalism career at WMGT-TV in Georgia. She then headed to what’s now called Spectrum News in Charlotte, N.C. She received her first regional Emmy award during her tenure at WTVF-TV, the CBS affiliate in Nashville, Tennessee.
Regarding her schooling, Cline attended Boston College where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in Black Studies. Moreover, she joined the University of Maryland, College Park, where she received her Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. Cline grew up in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C., and she has two older siblings. Additionally, both her parents hail from Sierra Leone, West Africa.
