Craig Nigrelli Bio
Craig Nigrelli is an American journalist currently working at 6 News WOWT as the co-anchor of Daybreak. Prior to returning to Omaha, he worked for WOWT’s sister station in Sarasota, Fla., as the weekday co-anchor of “Good Morning Suncoast.” Craig brings 32 years of broadcasting experience to the job. During his career, he has anchored and reported in markets including Buffalo, N.Y.; as well as Albuquerque, Minneapolis, Kansas City, and Wichita, Kan.
Prior to that Craig spent more than a decade as the main anchor at the CBS affiliate in Omaha. During his time there he anchored four evening newscasts daily. Additionally he moderated political debates in races for Congress, U.S. Senate, Nebraska governor and Omaha mayor. Moreover, he emceed big local events such as the Komen Race for a Cure, The American Heart Association Heart Walk, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s annual gala.
During his career, Nigrelli has been involved in coverage of national stories. They include the Oklahoma City federal building bombing in 1995. This happened from both his hometown in the Buffalo area, where the bomber was from. He also reported on the first anniversary of the domestic terror attack in Oklahoma City. During his time at KSTP, he traveled with the Minnesota National Guard in 2004 to Ramstein Air Base in Germany, reporting from Landstuhl Hospital on Americans wounded in the war in Iraq.

He spent about six consecutive hours on the air reporting from the scene. He also flew to Chicago in 2016 for a one-on-one interview with Omaha native Archbishop Blasé Cupich.
