Darla Miles Bio
Darla Miles is an American Emmy Award-wining journalist. Currently she works at the Eyewitness News as a general assignment reporter. Darla joined WABC-TV news team in 2009. She has covered such international breaking news stories as the attempted terror bombing in Times Square. She also covered the story of arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn. In her years as a reporter, she has also interviewed such luminaries as Senator John McCain, Jesse Jackson and Oprah Winfrey.
Prior to joining WABC-TV, Darla was a reporter/anchor for WFAA-TV in Dallas. During her time here she was nominated for a Lone Star Emmy Award. Before that, she was a reporter for WTVD-TV in Raleigh. During her tenure her work on the Duke University lacrosse rape investigation was featured as an ABC World News exclusive on Good Morning America. Darla also worked for WJBF-TV in Augusta, Georgia as Aiken Bureau Chief, anchor and reporter.
Miles started her television career at WCLK Radio in Atlanta, which led to a position at ONDA Madrid Radio in Madrid, Spain. Later she used her fluency in Spanish at CNN Radio Notícias and was part of the original team that launched CNN en Español as a 24-hour network. She also worked as a weekend anchor for CNN Headline News.
Darla is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Investigative Reporters and Editors. She dedicates much of her free time to mentoring young African American girls.

Darla is currently single. Previously she was married to her late husband whose name is unknown who passed on after complaining of headache . Later when he tried to stand up from their bed, he fell, hitting his head on a bedside table. They would find out that he had a stroke, and for a time, was paralyzed on the left side of his body. During that time, doctors believed that a blood clot formed in his left leg, which couldn’t be felt, and that it traveled to his lungs. Darla’s husband went into respiratory distress and his heart stopped. And because of his weakened state, doctors were not able to revive him.
When she was married to her late husband Darla suffered three miscarriage and as of now she still hopes that one day she will be a mother.
