David Bernard Biography
David Bernard is an American television meteorologist who works for WVUE-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to joining WVUE-TV, David worked for CBS News and television stations in Miami, Florida, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
What’s more, Bernard attended the University of Texas at Austin and also went to Mississippi State University. Additionally, she graduated from both universities. He began his career in 1993, in television meteorology forecasting in the Tornado Alley region of the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma and first worked at KZTV in Corpus Christi, Texas, and KVII in Amarillo, Texas. Later in 1994, David began work at Tulsa, Oklahoma TV station KJRH where he served as the meteorologist for the morning and midday news programs.
Moreover, in 1997, Bernard moved to WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana serving as the meteorologist for the morning news programs at the station for eight years. In the summer of 2005, he left WWL for a new position at Miami TV station WFOR, a CBS affiliate. Later in 2015, David returned to New Orleans to work for WVUE-TV and after several months he was named chief meteorologist.
Furthermore, he is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and a former member of the AMS Board of broadcast meteorology. In addition, in 2018 David won first prize for best weather anchor and best weathercast in the Louisiana Mississippi Associated Press competition. The Press Club of New Orleans awarded him the first prize for best weathercast in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
