Derrin Horton Biography
Derrin Horton is a renowned American sports anchor and reporter currently working for KTLA 5 News at 6, 6:30, 10, and 11 on weeknights. He is also the anchor of L.A,’s No 1 Sports Final show nightly at 10:45 pm. Horton has hosted, reported, anchored, and called play-by-play for large sports networks including the NFL network.
Since 2004, Horton has hosted studio shows for NFL Network including NFL Total Access, College Football Now, Point After, and Path to the Draft. Currently, he is the sports director of KTLA set to replace former director, Damon Andrews.
Before joining NFL, Horton worked at KCAL-TV in Los Angeles for the past 5 years. He has secured Sports Central and was the component journalist for Channel 9’s Inclusion of Los Angeles Lakers basketball. Moreover, Horton has won an Emmy for his inclusion in the Special Olympics.
Horton started his career as a radio host working for WHBC-AM. He later moved to Greensboro, North Carolina to host the “Dark College Sports Today and XII-TV the NBC associate in Winston- Salem. Horton went to Syracuse University where he graduated with a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political philosophy. He went to WAER Radio where he learned the art of play-by-play.
Additionally, after staying in North Carolina for two years, Horton moved to Midwest to anchor the end-of-week sports for WLWT-TV the NBC associate in Cincinnati. He moved to Chicago to FOX offshoot WFLD-TV to host the Chicago Bears. His next stop was KDNL-TV in St.Louis. Horton appreciates involving himself in various causes and leads men in Bible investigation. Also, he plays basketball and loves working out.
