Kelly Sasso is an American journalist currently working at WTAE as an anchor for noon news since 2019. Previously, Kelly worked at 40/29 News, the Hearst Television station in Fayetteville, Ark, in many positions but most notably as a prime-time anchor. Additionally, over her time at 49/29 News, she has earned many AP awards for special projects and newscasts.
Moreover, about her education, Sasso attended Hempfield High School. After graduation, she joined Point Park University in Downtown, Pittsburgh, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.
In addition, while at Hearts Television as a prime-time news anchor, she got to cover child abuse that tragically caused a 6-year-old girl’s death. The story earned her massive recognition and also won her an Emmy Award in 2016. Later in 2017, she joined WTAE, where she has been a morning reporter for traffic reports by 5 am and broadcasts in the morning program until 7 am.
