Michael Putney is an American Award-winning journalist who is currently a senior political television reporter and columnist, at WPLG, Local 10 News based in Miami, Florida, United States. He also works as a political columnist for the Miami Herald.
Moreover, Michael was born in New York City but raised in St. Louis. He attended Berkeley High School and after graduating he joined Deep Springs College Missouri. Later he went on to get his master’s degree at the University of Missouri. In addition, he began his career in journalism in 1966 as a radio reporter and later as a news director at KCGM in Columbia, Missouri.
Furthermore, Michael’s television career began in South Florida in 1981 at WTVJ, which at the time broadcast on Channel 4 as Miami’s CBS network affiliate. While there, he served as a reporter emphasizing government and politics, becoming weekend co-anchor in 1986. In 1989, he moved to WPLG Channel 10, an ABC network affiliate also in Miami, to become a senior political reporter and host of ”This Week in South Florida with Michael Putney”.
