Roz Varon is a renowned American journalist who presently works as a traffic/transportation anchor at ABC 7 News Chicago. She was the first in the country to bring traffic rush hour coverage to the morning news on television. Varon joined ABC 7 News in April 1989 as a Morning Traffic Anchor. She not only keeps Chicagoans informed about traffic jams and travel times, but she also covers the transportation beat extensively.
Roz has won Emmys for Traffic Reporting, Spot News, Specialty Programming, and Features, among other categories. She’s also received multiple Peter Lisagor Awards, including one for her “Weekender” feature, a monthly summary of events in and around Chicago. With the “Girl Scouts of the USA Thanks Badge,” the Girl Scouts recognized her as a role model.
