Shreyas Iyer Biography
Shreyas Iyer is an Indian International cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team as a Right Handed batter. Additionally, he scored a century in his debut test match and a half-century in the second innings against New Zealand in November 2021. He also became the first player to do so.
As for his education, Iyer studied and graduated from Don Bosco High School, Matunga. He later joined Ramniranjan Anandilal Podar College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. While there, his coach Amre trained him in his early cricketing days. In 2014, he represented Trent Bridge Cricket Team and made his List A debut the same year in November, playing in the 2014 and 2015 Vijay Hazare Trophies.
Later in February 2019. in the opening round of the 2018 and 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournaments, Shreyas made the highest total by an Indian batsman in a T20 match, when he scored 147 runs. Luckily, in March 2021, he was signed by Lancashire for their 2021 season of the Royal London One-Day Cup.
What’s more, on November 25, 2021, Shreyas got his Test cap from the former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and scored a maiden century playing against the New Zealand team. Due to this, he became the 16th Indian player to score a century in the debut test match.
