Sophia Choi is an American news broadcaster. Currently, she is working at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Choi anchors Channel 2 Action News Saturday and Sunday AM and is an investigative reporter for Channel 2 Action News.
Before she joined WSB-TV, Choi worked as the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. anchor at KVBC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Las Vegas. While there, she won two Electronic Media Awards for her work.
Before moving to Las Vegas Choi moved to Atlanta, GA in 2001, to become a prime-time anchor for CNN Headline News. During her time there Choi anchored various newscasts on CNN Headline News, CNN, and CNN International. She also covered various breaking news stories including the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Wilma, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Sophia began her professional career at WSET-TV, the ABC affiliate in Lynchburg, VA as a general assignment reporter. She then went to work at WVTM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama. Here she worked her way up from a general assignment reporter to the weekend morning anchor. While at NBC-13 in Birmingham, Choi was nominated for an Emmy Award for her special report called “Dirty Downloading.” Choi then worked at KCBS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles
