Toni Guinyard is an Emmy award-winning American journalist whom you can catch every morning on Today in L.A. from 4 to 7 a.m. and the NBC4 News at 11 a.m. She joined NBC4 in 2006 as a general assignment reporter. During her two-decade career, Guinyard has received several honors. She received three Los Angeles Emmy Awards for her story on “Microplastics,” and her live coverage of the Malibu Fires. Her coverage featured the talents of senior citizens in Los Angeles.
In addition, she earned two additional Emmy Awards for being part of an “Outstanding Newscast” at NBC4. Guinyard’s feature, “Empty Lots, Empty Promises,” spotlighting the lack of development in South Los Angeles, also recognized her as a national finalist for Harry Chapin Media Awards in 2007. She was also recognized in 2011 by the Association of California School Administrators Region XVI for her outstanding coverage of public education.
