Alan Krashesky Biography
Alan Krashesky is a well-known principal news anchor for WSL-TV, an American Broadcasting Company-owned and operated television station in Chicago, Illinois. He has been with ABC7 since 1982 when he joined the station as a general assignment reporter. Currently, Alan anchors the 5 pm, 6 pm, and 10 pm weekday newscasts.
Alan has also anchored the 10 pm newscasts since May 2016, first working with Kathy Brock until their retirement on June 27, 2018, and currently anchoring alongside Cheryl Burton. He has also co-anchored the 6 pm weekday newscast since 1998, currently working alongside Judy Hsu.
Previously, Krashesky co-anchored the 4 pm weekday newscast alongside Linda Yu from May 2005 to May 2016. Before that, he co-anchored the station’s 5 pm weekday newscasts with Diann Burns from 1994 to 1998. Furthermore, Alan was the first person to anchor ABC 7’s Morning newscasts, serving from 1989 to 1994. Every newscast Alan has anchored has been rated #1 in the Chicago market.
Alan landed his first on-air job in 1981, after graduating from college. He became a news reporter for WBNG-TV in Binghamton, New York. After a year of service at the station, he move to Austin, Texas where he worked as a news reporter and weekend weather anchor at KTBC-TV. Alan gained his first broadcasting experience when he served as a news anchor at WICB radio in Ithaca, New York.
