Alison Starling is an American Emmy award-winning television news anchor and journalist. Currently she is anchoring the 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. newscasts at WJLA-TV. In 2012, Alison won Emmys for Best Anchor and for Continuing Coverage for the 2011 Earthquake.

In 2013 she won for her role in the 7News special on Pope Francis, in 2015 for Continuing Coverage of the Baltimore Riots, in 2018 for Continuing Coverage of the Capital Gazette Shooting and in 2019 for her piece on military caregivers.

Starling joined WJLA-TV in August 2003. One year later, she became co-anchor of Good Morning Washington (5-7AM) and ABC7 News at Noon. In 2005, Washingtonian named her one of the area’s rising stars in local television news.

Before joining 7News Alison worked at KIRO-TV in Seattle, where she spent three years as a reporter and anchor. While in the Pacific Northwest, she covered the Seattle Earthquake and the Tacoma connection to the D.C.-area sniper case. Alison also covered the aftermath of the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy live from Texas. Prior to Seattle, Alison began her career as a reporter and morning anchor at WDEF in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
