Gayle King Bio
Gayle King is an American television personality, author, and broadcast journalist. Currently, she works for CBS News, co-hosting its flagship morning program, CBS Mornings, and before that its predecessor CBS This Morning. She is also an editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine. King was named one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People of 2019”.
CBS This Morning is popularly known as CBS’ most successful morning news broadcast in more than three decades. Since Gayle joined CBS News in 2011, she has conducted revealing and news-making interviews with world leaders, political figures, and celebrities.
Previously Gayle worked for 18 years as a television news anchor for CBS affiliate WFSB-TV in Hartford, Conn. During her time there she also hosted her own syndicated daytime program. Apart from working at WFSB, King worked at several other television stations, including WDAF-TV in Kansas City, Mo., WJZ-TV in Baltimore, Md., and WTOP-TV in Washington, D.C.
