Shayna Seymour Bio
Shayna Seymour is an America Emmy Award-winning journalist. Currently she serves as the co-anchor of WCVB’s iconic nightly newsmagazine, Chronicle. Previously Shayna was a reporter, producer and co-anchor of WCVB’s weekend EyeOpener newscast. She joined WCVB news team in 2006.
Being a co-anchor of Chronicle, Shayna reports extensively on human interest, lifestyle, entertainment and arts stories throughout New England and beyond. She had the opportunity to interview many celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Ginger Zee. Shayna was also the host of “Boston Idol,” a special Chronicle episode that featured several local American Idol hopefuls when the iconic show made its debut on ABC.
Before joining WCVB, Seymour was anchor of the morning and noon newscasts as well as general assignment reporter at WGGB-TV, Springfield. While at this ABC affiliate, Shayna improved her reporting skills by covering breaking news events, education and health issues. Moreover, she also co-hosted the MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon for WGGB.
Shayna began her broadcast career at WSTM-TV in Syracuse, NY as an intern. Initially, she was employed in the corporate world.
