Paul Workman Biography
Paul Workman is a skilled Canadian journalist who currently chairs CTV NATIONAL NEWS’ international coverage from London, England. He joined CTV News on July 13, 2006. Workman has over thirty years of experience in Canadian journalism and he has covered various national and international news events. He has reported from Canada, the U.S., Asia, and Europe and has covered major news events like the war in the Middle East, the tragic death of Princess Diana, and the revolutionary changes in Eastern Europe.
Since 2009, Paul has led CTV’s wide coverage of news events in the United States as Washington Bureau Chief. He was previously stationed in New Delhi as CTV News’ South Asia correspondent, where he reported the shots of Canadian troops in Afghanistan, the fall of Pakistan’s former President Gen. Pervez Musharraf, and the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
Before joining CTV, Workman served as a foreign correspondent for CBC News in Jerusalem and later Paris. He experienced almost two decades of change and conflict, the early peace accords between the Palestinians and the Israelis, two wars in Iraq, and the December 2001 fall of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. In addition, in his career, Paul went to Kosovo with Canadian forces and celebrated with Germans as the Berlin Wall came down.
In 1997, Paul received a Gemini Award (currently Canadian Screen Award) in the Best Reportage category and has been honored with 6 Gemini nominations for reporting. Regarding her schooling, Workman went to Ryerson where he pursued journalism. He is as well fluently bilingual in French and English and has contributed to various documentaries over the years.
