Tony Mainolfi is an American Certified Broadcast Meteorologist who works as a daily Chief Meteorologist at WESH 2 News, Hearst Argyle in Orlando, Florida, in the United States. He joined the First Warning Weather Team in May 2005. Additionally, Tony can be seen on weekdays at 5, 6, and 11 p.m., as well as on WESH 2 News on CW18 at 10 p.m.
Prior to that, Mainolfi formerly worked as a chief meteorologist at WCHS-TV in Charleston, West Virginia, for nine years. He also spent time in Atlanta working for The Weather Channel and CNN. Moreover, he attended the State University of New York at Albany and earned a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology. Additionally, he was vital in saving lives during the devastating Groundhog Day tornado outbreak in central Florida on February 2, 2007, which claimed the lives of 21 people. It was the region’s second most lethal tornado outbreak in recorded history.
