Britta Merwin Bio
Britta Merwin is an American certified meteorologist. Currently she serves as the morning co-anchor of the ad-supported streaming weather service. Britta joined FOX Weather in 2021. Previously, Merwin was a meteorologist at NBC affiliate KPRC-TV in Houston. While she was there she changed her ranks and she became the station’s morning meteorologist.
During her tenure at NBC Britta provided critical coverage surrounding Hurricane Harvey. She also covered on several tropical storms and floods impacting the area. In addition Britta also involved with the local community. She visited schools in Houston and the surrounding areas to encouraging kids to pursue careers in STEM and science. Merwin is also a passionate advocate for the Autism community as she is the mother of a special needs child.
Britta started her professional career in meteorology with NBC Weather Plus. She served as the morning meteorologist for CNBC’s morning show, Squawk Box. During her time there Britta covered Hurricane Gustav and the 2008 midwestern floods for NBC’s national cable news networks, including MSNBC and CNBC. She then continued on to freelance for News 12 Long Island. Merwin later moved to KCRA-TV the NBC affiliated station in Sacramento, CA.
