Mugo Odigwe is an American journalist currently working as a general assignment reporter at CBS2 Chicago since joining the station in February 2019. Prior to her current role, she worked as a weekend anchor and reporter at KMOV in St. Louis. At KMOV, she happened to cover the anniversary of the Ferguson unrest. Mugo began her career at KGAN/KFXA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she worked as a reporter and fill-in-anchor.
Talking about her education, she attended and graduated from Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree. Her amazing academic performance earned her a membership with Kappa Tau Alpha. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She believes in working to better any community she calls home and is more than happy to do the same in Chicago. When off her duties, she enjoys brunch and trying new restaurants.
