Dan Bowens is a five-time Emmy Award-winning American journalist who currently is the host of Good Day Wakeup weekdays from 4:30 am to 7 am. In addition, he is the host of a true-crime podcast known as “The Room With Dan Bowens.” He as well writes and assists in producing FOX5’s Emmy-nominated series, “Jazz Stories.”
In 2021, Bowens anchored the Sunday evening broadcast on FOX 5 that received the NY EMMY Award for the weekend newscast. The award recognized the entire FOX 5 News weekend family for coverage of George Floyd protests in New York City. Before joining FOX 5 in New York City, Bowens was at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC where he garnered two regional Emmy Awards.
